Bookmaker review
Hollywoodbets review
Hollywoodbets arrived in Britain from South Africa, where it is one of the largest bookmakers in the country, and it brought its racing pedigree with it. In the UK it is still a challenger brand, best known to most people as the shirt sponsor at Brighton and the name on the Hollywoodbets Sussex Stakes at Goodwood.
A challenger brand with a racing pedigree, still building out everything that is not racing.

Licence and who runs it
The British operation holds a UK Gambling Commission licence and is run separately from the South African business, so limits, offers and markets are set for this market. Sponsorship of British racing fixtures is the clearest sign of where the operator intends to compete.
The welcome offer, read properly
The sports welcome is £30 in free bets for a £10 bet. There is a separate casino offer – 100 free spins for depositing £10 and staking £10 on slots within seven days, with winnings from the spins capped at £1,000 – and the two do not combine. Under the Commission's rules in force since 19 January 2026, a British operator cannot tie a sports promotion to a casino one, so you choose a side rather than claiming both.
Markets
Horse racing is the strength, which follows from the parent company's history: British and Irish cards are covered in full, with the international racing that many British books treat as an afterthought also priced. Football, rugby and cricket carry the market depth you would expect; the long tail is shorter than at NetBet or 888 sport.
Features
Cash out on singles and multiples, in-play across the main sports, and a mobile product that is lighter and faster than the incumbents' because it carries less. Promotions are fewer than at the established brands, and mostly attached to racing festivals.
Banking
Visa and Mastercard debit plus the main e-wallets, £10 minimum, no fees. Verification before first withdrawal, no credit cards – the same licence conditions that bind every operator here.
Where it falls short
It is the smallest operation on this page. The market list outside racing and the big team sports is thin, the promotional calendar is quiet between festivals, and customer service has less capacity than the household names. The South African parentage also means occasional references elsewhere online to markets and payment methods that the British site does not carry – check on the UK domain, not a general one.
Verdict
A racing account with a growing British footprint. Worth an account for the racing coverage and the festival promotions; not yet a replacement for a full-service book.
Playing safely
Everything above assumes you are 18 or over and betting money you can afford to lose. Every operator licensed in Great Britain must give you deposit limits, a reality check, a time-out and self-exclusion from inside your account, and must connect to GAMSTOP, the free national scheme that blocks you from every licensed British site at once. If betting has stopped being entertainment, the National Gambling Helpline is free on 0808 8020 133, open around the clock, and our own page on gambling harm lists the rest.
Written and checked by the GBbet editorial desk
Licence numbers are checked against the Gambling Commission public register; bonus terms, minimum odds and payment limits are read from the operator’s own published pages. Nothing here is a personal opinion, and no page is rated by stars — how we work · about the desk.
